[CDCKI Business] Total K Day, SOTC, and More Exciting CKI Events!!

Hey Capital District!
Here are a few upcoming Capital District and CKI events which you just don't
want to miss... Be sure to note the registration deadlines and costs for
each event and let me know if you have any questions!
*CDCKI Total K Day 2008*
*When:* Sunday, March 16th from 1-5 PM
*Where: *Claude Moore Park in Sterling, VA
*Registration: *$5/attendee (pay on site). There is no online registration,
but if you have a large group of people interested in attending, please
e-mail me and let me know :)
*What: *A chance to have fun while also meeting the rest of the
Kiwanis-Family in a Kiwanis-Family Dodgeball game! We will have the
dodgeball game, service stations (for people who don't want to play
dodgeball and during breaks), a park cleanup during halftime, water bottles
for hydration, and pizza for some Kiwanis-Family fun! You don't want to miss
this chance to have a great time, have some food, and bond with your
Kiwanis-Family all at once! Plus we'll be selling *Helping
Hands*anthologies for the District Fundraising Initiative, so you can
bring $15 if
you're interested in buying one :) All profits will go to Nothing but
Nets<http://www.nothingbutnets.net/>,
which is a great cause that allows us to help protect families from malaria!

*Spring Officer Training Conference 2008*
*When:* Saturday, March 29th from 9AM - 10PM
*Where:* Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA
*Registration:* You can register online now at
http://www.cdcki.org/events/SOTC_reg.htm. The cost is *only $20/attendee if
you* *register by 6PM on March 14th* and $30/attendee after that. This
fee covers lunch on Saturday and all workshop materials.
*What: *SOTC is a day of training for all incoming club officers (and club
committee chairs who are interested). It is MANDATORY for incoming club
officers so that you get a chance to learn about your position, go through
important CLE training, meet your incoming district board and club officer
counterparts from other clubs in your division/the Capital District. It is
important that even returning officers attend, as SOTC offers a chance for
you and your board to set goals for this year and bond with one another
while assessing your group dynamic! For more information, visit

*Sub-Region F Event*

*When:* the weekend of April 11-13, 2008
*Where:* In our beautiful nation's capital of *Washington, D.C.*!
*Registration:* You can register online now at

The cost is *only $20/attendee *and the *registration deadline is midnight
of April 1st*! Registration covers a t-shirt, an all-day metro pass for
Saturday, breakfast, and prizes! You must bring your registration money (or
checks made out to *GW Circle K*) on-site on April 12th.
*What: *Join our fellow Sub-Region F districts of New England, New Jersey,
and New York by celebration our Sub-Region F-ness with our 1st ever
SUB-REGION EVENT! You can meet a lot of new people, catch up with old
friends, and learn a lot from other districts, and our own, as Capital hosts
this great weekend of fun! We will also be selling *Helping
Hands*anthologies, so bring an extra $15 to help make our library in
Honduras a
reality!
Friday night will be a chance to bond with your fellow Sub-Region members by
going out to the* **Capital Steps

just hanging out. Saturday will include Lost in DC (yes! a scavenger hunt
through the nation's capital!) during the day, including prizes for the
winners, and Relay for Life with GWUCKI during the night (for an extra $10
to cover Relay for Life registration). Sunday will include an informational
session, with more on where you can get the best CKI resources, set goals,
etc. and will be a time for socializing and goodbyes. It's going to be a lot
of fun and a great chance to attend a large-scale event that's held by our
district, so don't miss out!

*International Convention 2008*

*When:* August 6-9, 2008
*Where:* the *Adam's Mark Hotel* in the Mile High City of *Denver, Colorado*

*Registration:* Registration for the District Tour Options will be up
shortly and will include with and without travel options, with and without
Large Scale Service Project (LSSP) options, and hotel, ICON registration,
spirit pack, and district dinner/outing costs, etc. will all be included in
one registration cost, which you can pay in multiple installments so that
it's easier for you to afford this EXCITING CKI event! Keep an eye out for
more information to be out shortly, and *you can join the **

to receive more information on ICON and LSSP registration, updates, what to
pack/wear, how to subsidize costs, House of Delegates information, and much
much more!
*What: *It's INTERNATIONAL Convention 2008! Doesn't that sound exciting?
Well, it is! It's a once-a-year opportunity to meet fellow CKI members from
AROUND THE WORLD!! You can learn new things from talking to people from
other clubs, attend tons of informative workshops and general sessions, and
participate in interactive CKI activities, while also having tons of fun
during the CKI block parties, official tailgate party, hear Keynote Speaker
Brendon Burchard, attend caucus sessions, and soooo much more! The best part
is that, by attending, you can make a difference in our
organization, through voting in the House of Delegates (be sure to take
advantage of this opportunity for your club and try to send at least two
people to voice your concerns in the House!) and electing our 2008-09
International Board!
