Hey Capital C.R.A.B.S!

Capital District Convention 2007 is coming up soon, and NOW is the time to
REGISTER <http://www.cdcki.org/events/DCON_reg.htm>!

Held the weekend of *Friday, February 16 - Sunday, February 18, 2007* at the
*DoubleTree Charlottesville<http://www.doubletree.com/en/dt/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=CHOSHDT>
* in Charlottesville, VA, DCON 2007 is an event you just do NOT want to
miss. Please keep in mind that the *registration deadline is this Friday,
January 26, 2007 *, so please don't risk waiting until the last minute...go
to the CDCKI website and register right now!

*In fact, here are just 10 more reasons to attend...*

10. This year, Capital goes Hollywood with our theme ("That's a Wrap:
Capital in the Spotlight") so expect some fun-filled glitz and glam as we
enjoy the weekend!

9. We're adding an Oratorical Contest and a Talent Showcase this year, and
selected acts will even have the opportunity to perform for everyone during
the President's Banquet! If you are interested in participating, please
visit the DCON page on the CDCKI website to find the entry forms.

8. Get a chance to participate in the Hands-on-Service Fair where you can
actually try some fun projects that clubs from around the district are
involved in and get some great ideas for your home club!

7. We're hosting a mocktail party on Friday evening, Capital District style
dances throughout the weekend, and many more opportunities to just have fun all
Convention long!

6. Attend workshops which will give you valuable information for your club,
or maybe one that's just for fun* (including the Little/Big Program,
Everything You Wanted to Know about the Opposite Sex But Were Too Afraid to
Ask, Swing Dance Lessons, a Feedback Forum for CKIers to talk to a panel of
Kiwanians/CKI alumni, Fundraising workshops, and so much more!) *

5. We will be raffling off a CKI t-shirt quilt ($3 for 1 ticket or $5 for
2). *Remember, if you have any extra CKI shirts (from this year or from the
years past), please send them to the following address (7 Blue Ridge
Ave ; Luray,
VA 22835) ASAP so that they are received by February 5th and can be included
in the quilt! *

4. A comedic hypnotist will be performing during Opening Session on Friday
evening. Need I say more?!!

3. Make sure you have a say in matters of the district: participate in
the House
of Delegates and vote on proposed amendments to the Capital District bylaws
and elect the 2007-2008 District Board of Officers.

2. Show some CKI support for the district, your division, and your home club
as we recognize some dedicated and hard-working members of the Capital
District with awards and scholarships during the weekend!

1. Meet people from all over the Capital District, make new friends, and create
lifelong memories!
