Hey CKI'ers!
My younger brother actually told me about this site, and I thought I would
share it with all of you since you might be interested:
The web site is called Free Rice, and if you go to
http://www.freerice.com/index.php you can play a vocabulary game, and each
time you answer a multiple choice vocabulary question correctly, various
advertisers (including Macy's, American Express, and Fujitsu) will donate 10
grains of rice to the United Nations to help end world hunger!
Not only does this game help you with your vocabulary skills (the words keep
getting harder if you keep getting them right, so that the game reaches your
vocabulary level and helps you to develop your English skills), but it is
also a great way to spend a few seconds every day to help save lives and
feed the hungry! It's actually a lot of fun, and as you get the
questions right, you keep going, and if you play for even a few minutes, you
can rack up 1000s of grains of rice :)
If you have any questions, check out the site's FAQ page here:
http://www.freerice.com/faq.html.
Please pass this on to your clubs/districts/anyone else who might be
interested! Thanks :)
