Hey Board Members!

There are only FIVE days until Fall Training Rally, and on top of
that...it's officially October 1st! This means that we have a* lot* to do
this week :)

*What should you be working on?* Well, our FALL TRAINING RALLY BOARD MEETING
is coming up this Sunday, so you should all submit an abbreviated* Board
Report* by this Wednesday (October 3rd) by midnight so that it can be
included in the board book. Since this will be a brief board meeting, our
board reports will be (for the most part) shorter as well. *LTGs, you will
only need to do sections I, IV, VI and VII (CKI Involvement,
Club/Divisional Updates, YOP, and Goals/Announcements) for this
meeting.*Everyone else will receive (or should have already received)
specific
directions for their FTR report.

Within the next couple of days, you will receive your small group packets so
that you can all read over them and make sure you don't have any questions
about anything. As board members, you will all be facilitating your own
small group, so please make sure that you are comfortable with what's going
on so that your group can understand everything as well!

If you volunteered to help with decorations/creating stuff for the
challenges, you will receive info on that throughout the week. Also, *if you
have ideas for artifacts, let me know ASAP *so that we can incorporate
that!! Finally, if you are facilitating a workshop, I need your* workshop
materials by MIDNIGHT Monday, October 1st* (aka later today). If you can't
get it in on time for some reason, please let me know ASAP!

Also, it's officially a new fiscal year, so, Lt. Governors, please make sure
that all of your clubs have received a letter (they should have received it
by snail mail) which has their "Club Key Number" and "Unique Password" so
that they can access the Membership Update Center on the CKI web site to
process dues for the 2007-08 year. Also, remember that our goal for this
year is *1,100 members!* We are starting fresh, so make sure that your clubs
start sending their dues in if they have already started collecting them.
They can always send in whatever they have now and then send in more as they
come.

*Remember that the dues deadline for EARLY BIRD DUES is November 1st
(postmarked by date), and the final **deadline for dues submission to
International is December 1st (which is a received by date). *

Please promote those dates so that we get our clubs' dues in on time!! If
you know that one(more) of your clubs is(are) having trouble
recruiting/retaining members and/or collecting dues, please let me know ASAP
so that we can start working on a game plan for this fall.

Also, the new fiscal year means that we will be moving into the 2007-08
budget now. If you have any vouchers for stuff purchased before today,
please send those in ASAP! If you spend anything from now on, you have to
use the new budget so be sure you use the correct line item in your voucher,
and also keep in mind that the amount you have in your account now is
dependent on the number of dues-paid members in our district. That means
that if you want to vouch anything, you must first start getting your clubs
to turn in their dues ;)

P.S. I promise that you will have the updated anthology story submission
forms and the FTR Board Meeting agenda sent to you within the next few
days.... Sorry for the delay!

P.P.S. We received our first YOP Donation from the McLean Kiwanis Club of
Division 20 :) It was $200, but this still means we are *$1,400 away from
our goa*l!!! If you have not started visiting clubs, you should have
definitely at least set up times to go speak. Every little bit counts, so
even if clubs don't donate that much, if you visit them, they will be likely
to help you out to some extent, and it all adds up. Just stress how
important YOP is, and don't forget to use the UPDATED DONOR CARD which was
sent out last week.
