*Now that your summers are winding down, it's back to school and another
year of service with CKI!
First off, get ready for Fall Training Rally! The ultimate showdown between
pirates (yeah!) and ninjas (boo!) runs from September 26-28 in Appomattox,
Virginia. Here's what Governor Heather has to say about it, in case you
didn't get her e-mail yet:*
Hey Capital!!!
Hope everyone has had a fantastic summer. It's time for school to start up
again…along with awesome Capital District CKI events!!! In fact, our next
district event is just around the corner…*Fall Training Rally 2008 :-D*
So what is Fall Training Rally??? Only the most *off-the-hook kickoff
rally*for the most
*off-the-hook service organization* in the world…Circle K International, of
course!
Come join us in *Appomattox, VA* from *September 26th through September 28
th* for a weekend full of service, leadership, and fellowship as we find out
the answer to one of life's most trivial questions – *Pirates or Ninjas?* Be
prepared for a weekend of rigorous challenges involving agility, wit, and
teamwork as we determine which of these two legendary groups would *really *win
the *Ultimate Service Showdown*. You don't want to miss out on this once in
a lifetime experience involving plenty of informative workshops, activities,
and a bonfire(who doesn't love s'mores?)!! *So why wait?* *Register now* *for
Fall Training Rally 2008!*
Registration is only *$40* if you register by *11:59PM on September 3rd* and
includes lodging, four meals, workshop materials, a FTR themed long-sleeved
t-shirt…how sweet is that?!?
Use the below link to register:

If you have any questions about the event please talk to Conventions &
Conferences Chair Becky Baltrusaitis (con-con at cdcki.org). Hope to see you
all there!!
*Do you like HTML? Do you regularly blind people with computer science? Is
your personal website a modern-day marvel? If so, apply for the Technology
chair position for CDCKI! The Technology chair position has recently become
available and we need a hardworking individual like yourself to make the
CDCKI website up-to-date and to wow its visitors. E-mail myself or Governor
Heather (heinz57 at vt.edu) for more info or to apply.
One last note: If you have yet to turn in any MRF, please do so ASAP! Good
luck with the start of classes!
Lyndsey
