[CDCKI Chairs] [CDCKI Metro] Hey Metro! The Go to ICON and LSSP Edition!

Hey everyone! It's finally summer (break) and you know what that means! ICON
and LSSP are just around the corner!

For those of you who don't know, *ICON* is the Circle K International
Convention. It's being held August 6-9 in Denver, Colorado at the Sheraton
Hotel downtown. Not only is it a time when CKIers from all over get to come
together and have fun with various fellowship events and a district dinner,
but it's also when we vote for our International Board and other important
things such as dues. Each club may send as many members as it wishes and may
have two voting delegates in the House of Delegates, so it's a great
opportunity to voice your club's opinion on the future of CKI.

*LSSP* is our Large Scale Service Project. It will be taking place in Denver
August 2-5 and so far will consist of two separate projects. The first will
be working with the Salvation Army. We will help out with renovations like
painting, landscaping, and organizing materials in their retail stores and
details are still being worked out to hopefully add more projects with the
Salvation Army. The second project will be with the Denver Rescue Mission.
With that group, we will be helping them organize their annual Backpack
Carnival in which they distribute backpacks filled with school supplies to
over 1000 low-income children in Denver. The carnival is being help August
9, but we will be putting together the backpacks and making games for the
carnival.

package extras, go to the CDCKI ICON registration website at
http://www.cdcki.org/events/ICON_main.htm . Please note that if you register
for transportation with CDCKI, the return flight to either BWI or Reagan
will be on August 10, so lodging for the night of August 9 will be provided.

Also, the Crabs in Denver Google Group (
http://groups.google.com/group/crabsindenver) has a lot of valuable
information pertaining to ICON and LSSP, so check that out too!
