about the International Scholarships that are available to you as a benefit
of membership in CKI!

This is a reminder from the Membership Development and Benefits Committee
that the 2007 scholarship book is now available on the International
Website! Please visit:
http://www.circlek.org/circlek/lit/download.asp?id=374 to download the
booklet because no booklets will be mailed this year. Applications must be
submitted through the applicant's district. Districts will then send one
finalist for each CKI scholarship to the International Office, where a
committee will determine the winners. Please pass along this information to
your districts so that their membership is able to take advantage of this
wonderful membership benefit! 

Scholarship details, district contacts, applications, and deadlines are
available in the booklet. Deadlines vary depending upon the district, and
Circle K'ers are urged to check deadlines early. Some deadlines are as early
as January. 

The following scholarships are available:

*	Paul L. Frantz Circle K Past International Presidents' Scholarship:
One US$1,000 scholarship. This award was formally known as the Past
Presidents' Scholarship. Award is named for Past President Paul L. Frantz,
who died in 2005. Applicant must have been a Circle K club president. 
*	Himmel Scholarship: One US$500 scholarship. Funded by family and
friends of Harry S. Himmel, deceased President Emeritus of the Kiwanis
International Foundation. 
*	J. Walker Field Scholarship: One US$1,000 scholarship. Given in
memory of past Kiwanis governor and avid Circle K supporter from the Florida
District . 
*	National Dean's List Scholarship: Two US$500 scholarships. Funded by
the National Dean's List. 
*	AmerLink Scholarship: One US$500 scholarship. Funded by AmerLink
Ltd., America's Log Home Company. Available to Forestry or Environmental
Science majors. Applicants must attach an exhibit listing major, minor, or
area of emphasis, anticipated graduation date, and a 500-word essay on what
the applicant hopes to accomplish in the field of forestry or environmental
science. Award given to student in junior or senior year. 
*	TruGreen Scholarship: One US$500 scholarship. Funded by TruGreen.
Applicant must attach a 200-word essay about a campus/community cleanup
project in which he or she has participated. 
*	Cunat International Scholarship: One US$2,500 scholarship. Provided
by Kiwanis International Past President Brian and Miki Cunat. A separate
application must be submitted. Award given based on leadership, regardless
of grade point average or financial need. 
*	Kiwanis International Foundation/Circle K District Matching
Scholarships: US$1,000 award. Districts are eligible to receive up to 10
matching scholarships based on the amount of clubs participating in the
Annual Club Gift Campaign of the Kiwanis International Foundation. Financial
need is not a factor in the award. Must submit application through district
by deadline determined by the district.
