Hey CDCKI Leaders,
Want to attend the best District Convention yet, but worried about how to
pay your or your members' way there? Well, the District Board would like to
provide you with a few options on how to pay for your convention experience.
*Program Advertisement Promotion* - Any CKI member* who sells $150 or more
worth of advertisements for the convention program will receive a 50%
discount off of the pre-registration price of their convention
registration. If a CKI member sells, $300 worth of advertisements, they will
receive a free convention pre-registration.
* - Advertisements sold by members of the Capital District Board of Officers
are INELIGBLE for this promotion.
Financial Help from Your Sponsoring Kiwanis Club--Many Kiwanis clubs already
have special line items for you and your members to attend Conventions and
Conferences. Work with your Kiwanis advisor to determine if this would be a
viable option for your club.
We also recommend that clubs work with their Kiwanis sponsors to jointly pay
for the trip. The 1/3 Plan, where members pay one third of the cost out of
pocket, fundraise one third, and the Kiwanis club provides a third, is a
viable option for most members to attend the convention.
Financial Help from Your School--Many schools provide grants for student
organizations to attend such conventions. Begin by speaking with your
Student Activities Office, Student Government Association, and your Faculty
Advisor to begin the process of requesting assistance from your schools.
We hope to see you all at this year's District Convention. If you have any
questions about ways to raise funds for your trip, please feel free to
contact me, or a member of the District Board.
In Service,
Justin
