[CDCKI Editors] Give Your Two Cents for DCON 2008!

Hey Capital District!

Don't forget that the deadline for submitting applications to participate on
the District Convention Sub-Committees is approaching! If you want to help
out and put in your two cents for District Convention this year, and even if
you only have limited time to dedicate to the job, this is the perfect
option for you. All of your help will be done through phone
calls/e-mails/AIM chats, or on-site during convention, so the only event you
have to plan on attending is DCON 2008!!

The sub-committees are as follows:

   - *Audio-Visual/Slideshow* - if you are good with working with A/V
   equipment and/or know how to make a killer slideshow, this is the
   sub-committee for you!
   - *Credentials* - This sub-committee consists of checking in clubs to
   be delegates at DCON and presenting a Credentials report at the DCON House
   of Delegates
   - *Decorations and Theme-ing* - Have ideas for the DCON 08 theme? Want
   to help plan the logistics and general DCON agenda? Love setting up and have
   a creative eye for decorating? We could definitely use your help here!
   - *Donations and Souvenir* - This includes finding potential DCON
   souvenirs that are within the budget and contacting outside organizations to
   solicit donations and DCON prize give-a-ways!
   - *Elections* - Includes collecting and counting ballots during House
   of Delegates, and announcing election results during HOD
   - *Entertainment *- If you are interested in planning/coordinating
   nightly activities, the DCON dances, and the District Talent Show and
   Oratorical Contest during Convention, we could definitely use your help
   here!
   - *Program* - Good with graphics? Then you should help out here by
   putting together the Convention Program, getting the DCON logo, and getting
   ads for the program with this sub-committee
   - *Registration* - If you are interested in helping create the
   registration packets, ensuring that people register for DCON, and then
   actually running registration during DCON weekend, this is the right
   sub-committee for you!
   - *Resolutions* - Write a call for resolutions to be sent to all
   clubs, be ready to collect resolutions even during DCON, prepare any
   received resolutions, and give a report during House of Delegates
   - *Sergeant at Arms* - This sub-committee will ensure that DCON runs
   smoothly by assigning volunteers to take nightly shifts or shifts right
   before each session and House of Delegates so that all rules of the
   Convention and Hotel are enforced and there are no noise violations, etc.
   - *Workshops* - This is a really important sub-committee that is
   responsible for deciding on ideas for workshops at DCON, securing
   facilitators, and ensuring that all workshops logistics are taken care of

Regardless of your previous CKI experience, we would love for you to help
out. All you need to have is a creative mind and a lot of enthusiasm! :)
