Dear Capital District!

*HAPPY NEW YEAR! *With early registration closed and regular registration
open, I wanted to take this time to let you know some of the fun things
planned for District Convention.

TOGA CONTEST

* Wear your best toga to opening session over your club tee shirt for a
chance to win the first ever TOGA CONTEST at DCON! Bring your favorite bed
sheet from home and show off your toga making skills to the district. The
winner will be chosen by applause from the audience. First, second, and
third prizes will be awarded.

CHAIN LINKS CONTEST

*Each person will have the opportunity to purchase "chain links" for their
respective division to support "Helping Hands" towards the District
Fundraising initiative to build a library in Honduras. Each link will cost
$1.00 or you may purchase 5 for $3.00.The division with the most links will
win a prize.

TEE SHIRT DECORATING

* The district board along with a few others will divide up into "teams" of
about 4 or 5 people. During DCON you will have the opportunity to bid on a
specific team by paying 25 cents per bid. The team with the most "bids" will
wear white tee shirts during the President's Ball and the "bidders" will
have the opportunity to decorate white tee shirts they are wearing however
they choose. The proceeds of this fundraiser will go towards the 6 Cents
Initiative.

TEE SHIRT QUILT

* Speaking of Tee Shirts, there will be another chance to win a tee shirt
quilt at DCON. The tee shirt quilt will be made of club tee shirts from the
district sewn together into a quilt by Tidewater-64 Lieutenant Governor's
Lana Borgie's Mother. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit The
Tomorrow Fund.

PIE THROWING
* Ever want to pie a District Board Member in the face? If your club has
turned in all of their MRF's for this year, District Secretary-Treasurer
Milan Nguyen will give that club the opportunity to pie a District Board
Member.

Remember to register for DCON today! This is one convention you will not
want to miss!
